  • Will practices be cancelled during inclement weather?
We run our programs regardless of the weather - sun, rain, cold, etc. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately. In cases of extreme weather (i.e. thunder, lightning) we will take proper precautions to ensure no participant is endandered. Please use your discretion if you feel that the weather is unsafe for your child.

The runs will take place rain or shine.
  • What kind of shoes should I wear?
Most of the trails we run on are not very technical. Road shoes should suffice.

  • Why to I have to pay a membership fee?
The Russell Run Club (RRC) is registered with Athletics Ontario (AO). Registration ensures Coaches and Affiliates have the necessary coaching requirements, training and police checks. It also provides incurance for the RRC. Every participant of any RRC program needs to be a member of AO for insurance purposes. The fees help cover admistration expenses of the Club.
  • Why can I not pro-rate my membership if I register mid-way through the calendar year?
Athletics Ontario membership is per calendar year. They do not pro-rate membership fees therefore we cannot.
  • I don't have a Facebook Account, how will I be updated?"
Important information will be emailed to members of the Russell Run Club. We are looking at other options in the future for communication.

    Of course!
  • Will children and youth be welcome?
Of course. Those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
  • Do I have to register for group runs?
Not necessarilty. But we do have a Registration Form you can fill out to let us know you are attending. It is greatly appreciated if you do, so we can plan accordingly.
